We aim to be a church that is fully welcoming of all, including those who are LGBTQ+. This is our intention, though we still have a lot to learn. We are conscious the Church has not always felt like a welcoming or safe place for LGBTQ people. If you are LGBTQ+ you are welcome here on your own terms and we encourage you to get involved. It is not yet legal for same sex blessings or marriages to take place in the Church of England, but this is being reviewed by the Synod, and we are contributing to this conversation through the Living in Love and Faith materials.
Our parish is diverse culturally and socially and we are a Presence & Engagement Parish (where more than 30% of the population belong to a faith other than Christianity). We are seeking to become a more diverse congregation that more accurately reflects the ethnic diversity of the parish and are actively trying to be open to God’s leading on this.
